Arthur Elrod defines the magic of Palm Springs during Hollywood’s Golden Age. The spectacular desert oasis was conceived and styled by the legendary designer, as his own personal retreat. So much of the villa’s original charm has been mindfully preserved, with subtle contemporary touches added to enhance your stay.
A large reflective pool sparkles in the sunlight while your ears are filled with the sounds of a trickling fountain and lush garden flora rustling in the breeze. Inside, the central rooms are adorned with colorful and ornate Regency furnishings. The living room is spacious and ideal for entertaining: its long, wraparound sofa providing ample seating. For more intimate gatherings, a smaller entertaining room is found off the living room, complete with sunken bar and vintage cocktail accessories.
Each of the home’s four, lavishly decorated bedrooms are completely unique and unforgettable. In the Master bedroom, powder blue walls display bamboo illustrations. It boasts two full beds pushed together under an original bedframe, a dressing room and spacious en-suite. The Library Room has two vintage Twin beds, a built-in desk, en-suite and sliding glass doors that open directly out to the deck. The Blue Room has a full bed with a view of the bamboo garden. The final room houses a lovely canary yellow canopy bed.
